I travelled to Spain in July 2020 during Covid-19. I took this opportunity to document the pandemic whilst in another country, from walking the streets of Costa Adeje to inside a shopping mall, staying in an all-inclusive hotel and a trip to the supermarkets. As much as this was an amazing holiday if nothing else, it was also a scary opportunity to capture the pandemic outside of the uk. Scary because of certain rules we had to follow and the process we went through to get to and from Spain. Even just walking on the street, your face mask had to be visible, which actually created a new fashion trend of people wearing their masks as an elbow pad. If the face mask wasn’t visible you were more than likely going to be fined. And I actually was stopped quite a few times, in places like the mall and supermarkets, for taking pictures. The experience as a whole was interesting to say the least. While I did take my DSLR camera, most of these shots were taken on my phone. Everywhere we went I saw so many photo opportunities to capture moments on people’s life’s that just screamed the effeteness of the pandemic, therefore the use of my mobile phone really made this project happen. And although quality of images is always great, it didn’t seem necessary to this project. I decided to add the 4 different categories to my page for this because each I think come across differently to each viewer.
