I started my placement year at HDTWO Commercial Photography Studio in April 2019. And I am currently still working there almost 2 years later. Only 2 weeks into my placement year I remember being slightly overwhelmed with the number of skills and technical attributes I was gaining. I now can’t emphasise enough how important it is to complete a placement year as it is just so beneficial. As much as the university assign us all these assignments and essays, its nothing on being out in the real world, with real clients and models. Within my work experience year, I was part of so many different interesting shoots. As the time went on and I got more and more confident which in turn led the studio to trust me more and more, I was able to work independently rather than always an assistant. This year massively boosted my confidence, I always put myself down and I guess you could say I don’t believe in myself; I love to style… propping room sets and interior design is becoming to be quite a love of mine.
