Part 1: Building ‘Black Box’

Originally the plan was to use 6 8x4 ft walls to build the set, however as we were building the back wall and one side wall together, we realised that it needed to be longer. So instead of 2 walls on the sides we built it out by 3 walls on each side. Which meant that the sides came out by 12ft now. Once the walls were up and secured, we started to paint the inside of the box black. Honestly one coat of the black paint would have been enough however we did end up doing two just to use the paint can up and make sure everything bit of the walls were covered. To add stability, we attached 2 long pieces of wood over the top of the two side walls and screw them into the walls, this also tightened them up which made the walls dead straight. While the walls were drying, I used this time to figure out how I would hang up the plastic. I had already bought black fishing wire as I wanted the wire to be non-existent to the camera. We eventually came up with the idea of screwing screws into both sides of 5 pieces of 2x4 inch wood planks. So that I could use the screws to attach the wire too. We then placed these on top of the two large pieces of wood we attached earlier for stability. After this the walls were still not completely dry, so we decided to leave this then other night.
