I travelled to Blackpool in the hopes of capturing the realistic side of plastic waste. Especially on the coast, it seems that a lot of waste is left behind. Well, that’s what I thought. But as a nice surprise I found that along Blackpool beach they’re were hardly any waste. It was nice to see that because of lockdown due to COVID-19 the beaches have been kept cleaner. However, for the purpose of my photography I had planned ahead for this and brought my own pieces of waste that I have been collecting for a while at this point. Such as plastic bottles and lids. I also bought a litter picker to use not only to pick up waste but to use in the images. And it happens to be that the images with the pickers in are my favourite from this day. From this shoot I will actually pair a couple of the images with some of my other shoots to pull together my final year project.
